Bangkok Love Story (2007)

Plot:

A hitman falls for his handsome target, only to find that his passion may prove his downfall in director Poj Arnon's scintillating underworld drama. Maek (Rattanaballang Tohssawat) is a cold-blooded assassin for hire, and his latest assignment is to take out a police informant named Iht (Chaiwat Thongsaeng). Just as Maek gets his mark in his sights, however, he has a last-second change of heart and decides not to pull the trigger. In the ensuing gunfight, Maek takes a bullet and is dragged to safety by a grateful Iht. As Iht nurses Maek back to health, the wounded hitman and his married caretaker find their feelings for one another developing into something far deeper than friendship. When word gets out about Maek and Iht's forbidden romance, everyone from Thailand's biggest crime boss to Iht's enraged wife comes gunning for them. Later, Maek returns to his boss in hopes of rectifying the situation. But Maek's boss isn't the most forgiving of criminal kingpins, and when Iht turns up unexpectedly, the bullets really start to fly.

True Grit (2010)

Υπόθεση:
Ο πατέρας της δεκατετράχρονης Mattie Ross (Hailee Steinfeld) δολοφονείται μπροστά στα μάτια της από τον "δειλό" Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin). Η μικρή "εκδικήτρια" αποφασίζει να πάρει το νόμο στα χέρια της και να αποδώσει δικαιοσύνη. Έτσι " προσλαμβάνει " έναν σκληροτράχηλο με αληθινό θράσος (true grit) άλλα ιδιόρρυθμο και μεθύστακα σερίφη τον Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges) , ο οποίος παρά τις όποιες αντιρρήσεις έχει τελικά αποφασίζει να βοηθήσει την Mattie. Τυφλωμένη από την εκδίκηση η δεκατετράχρονη και ο σεριφής κυνηγούν τον δολοφόνο και προσπαθούν να τον πιάσουν πριν όμως από τον LeBoeuf (Matt Damon) , έναν Ranger που επίσης αναζητεί να συλλάβει τον Tom Chaney για έναν άλλο φόνο που διέπραξε στο Texas.. Remake του κλασικού western που γύρισε το 1969 ο Henry Hathaway με τον John Wayne ή αλλιώς η ταινία που κέρδισε το Oscar o John Wayne. Το True Grit φαίνεται πως άρεσε αρκετά στους αδερφούς Κοεν που αποφάσισαν να το ξαναζωντανέψουν αλλά με τον δικό τους μοναδικό τρόπο.
